Interview with Chris Morris

Categories // Interviews

Tell me about your family and where you're from.

My name is Chris Morris and my wife's name is Nicole. We have a 6 month old daughter. Nicole and I met in high school, though never dated until we finished school. My family is a very artsy family; my wife graduated with her BFA from the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan. She also currently teaches art to underprivileged youth. I have owned a gallery that was called Sans Souci ( no worries ) and when we got together we opened Dohr Mor Art Space, a gallery and educational space. We no longer have the gallery, and have recently started an organization called The Wappingers Arts Council in the village where we live. We both are still very active with our painting and both show regularly.

Interview with David Mackey

Tell me about your family.

My family includes my wife Candy, my 1 year old son David Jr., and Candy's 13 year old daughter Aliyah from a previous marriage. We live in Pennsylvania with two pugs, a cat, and a fish. Her family is around the area, but my family lives in Maine and New York. We are mostly homebodies, who mostly like to watch movies and cook together.

Tell me about your relationship with your father, how it shaped you as a father:

That's actually an extremely pertinent question to my situation. My father left when I was less than a year old, which makes me really want to be there for my son. Not being there for him is not an option for me. I am the primary care taker in the family for my son, and I'm very protective/picky about things when it comes to him. I spend every day with him. I work part-time and his mother works full time. I only work at night, so I am with him constantly.
