My wife and I are making the leap to homeschooling with our girls. Scary and empowering at the same time. I'll post links to resources as I find them. For now, here's an active forum with lots of resources: http://forum.homeschool.com/

We just enrolled our oldest 2 for the next school year in k12. I hope the kids test well and get placed where they need to be. It looks like the math will be similar we are using saxon math now and hte k12 program uses the same style of teaching.

He's a lucky kid! I think he will be able to look back on it and realize how historic it really was.

@peteej The best decision we ever made was to homeschool! I was dead set against it when my nephew (now 21 and about to graduate from college) started. I watched he and his brothers since kindergarten and they made a believer out of me! We've been at it for 7 years now and wouldn't have it any other way. BIG commitment, but the one-on-one teaching can't be beat! My wife does most of the teaching while I'm the principal and the janitor! Aside from all the regular subjects, entrepreneurship is a big deal for me. Our kids are very involved in the running of our vending company and my son is quickly becoming a skilled graphic designer at 12 years old. He made $225 last month doing graphic design because we purchase the iMac and software and hooked him up with a friend who's a trained designer. Look for the addition of a MARZS Graphics logo on my blog soon as this will be my son's first business. My daughters (10 and 7) came up with a unique gift that they made their friends over the holidays while learning to knit. No one else has come up with this idea and I think it's worth a ton of money, so we're going to begin to research this opportunity for them. Because of the ability of dual credit classes once the kids are in high school, mine will take 2 years of hs and 2 years of college at the same time and graduate 2 years earlier than their peers in the process. If you've got any questions, I'd be more than happy to answer them.
